Recently, ESEC successfully deployed the Power Monitoring Expert (PME) energy management system at Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Quang Nam Factory, enhancing energy management efficiency and supporting the customer’s sustainable development goals.
The Customer – Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Quang Nam Factory
Pepsico is a global leader in food and beverage, owning numerous world-renowned brands. In Vietnam, Suntory PepsiCo Quang Nam is one of the key manufacturing facilities, playing an important role in the company’s supply chain. Guided by its sustainable development vision, the plant places great emphasis on applying advanced technologies to manage energy efficiently, boost productivity, and minimize environmental impact.
Challenges
Suntory PepsiCo Quang Nam required a comprehensive energy management system capable of:
- Real-time monitoring of electrical, water, steam, and flow consumption parameters for each area.
- Providing detailed reports and analyzing power quality in compliance with international standards.
- Calculating detailed KPIs by SKU, area, feeder, and for the entire plant.
- Supporting alerts when consumption thresholds are exceeded or when connectivity is lost, and automatically sending reports via email.
- Enabling remote access and operation through multiple devices, including tablets, laptops, and smartphones.
ESEC’s Solution
ESEC delivered and configured Schneider Electric’s Power Monitoring Expert (PME) system with key components including:
- Programming flow signal acquisition from flow meters into the PME system.
- Designing the PME Webserver with intuitive dashboards, energy usage maps, trend charts, and customized reports.
- Calculating KPI/SKU in detail for each load, area, feeder, and for the entire plant.
- Multi-level reporting system: from daily operational reports, plant-level KPI reports, SKU-level KPI reports to sustainability performance reports.
- Power quality analysis according to EN50160/IEC6100-4-30/IEEE519-2014 standards and Vietnam’s Circular 30/2019-TT-BCT.
- Smart email alert system for incidents or threshold exceedances.
- Remote access capability via mobile devices, enabling monitoring anytime, anywhere.

The PME implementation has enabled Suntory PepsiCo Quang Nam to:
- Monitor electricity, water, and steam consumption with precision and in real time.
